Alpha 2 de Ubuntu 8.10 y Mandriva Linux 2009 ya disponibles

Ubuntu y Mandriva han liberado sus respectivas versiones de desarrollo de sus próximas ediciones.

La nueva de Ubuntu 8.10 se llamará "Intrepid Ibex" y está preparado el lanzamiento de su versión final para el día 30 de octubre. Por su parte, Mandriva Linux 2009 se adelantará algunos días y la fecha esperada para su liberación final es el 9 de octubre.

Intrepid Ibex, según su roadmap público, a partir de ahora se estiman 4 versiones Alpha más antes de la llegada de la única versión Beta esperada el día 2 de octubre. Desde ahí, está programada una sola Release Candidate (RC) para el día 23 de octubre y directamente lanzar una semana más tarde la versión final oficial.

Mandriva Linux también ha publicado sus planes de desarrollo de su edición 2009, en los que se detalla que esta ha sido la última versión Alpha y ahora darán paso a las dos versiones Beta programadas para los días 29 de julio y 19 de agosto. Lo siguiente será disfrutar de las dos versiones candidatas estimadas para los días 3 y 23 de septiembre. El día 2 de octubre será liberada una versión final oficial interna, pero los usuarios deberemos esperar una semana más para conseguir la versión final oficial del sistema operativo.
